Lots of helpful responses to my last post.

However it turns out to be the locking wheel nut key that is damaged beyond use.

The specialist couldn’t undo the wheel nuts despite their best efforts.

Is my only option to pay about £60 to get the four wheel nuts off?

Thanks

If the key is damaged your local BMW dealer will have a master set with which they will be able to remove the lockers for you and get a replacement key. They get damaged by morons using air wrenches in tyre houses. Other views are available.

If you have the code card you can order replacement keys from McGard. If not take somewhere like Micheldever Tyres and ask them to use their tools to remove.

I have a master set could have gave you the key number from a decent picture of the locking bolt.
