Not so long ago it was all chrome now it's going back to black, since I got the BBS's with black centers I've put black kidney grills on and thought I would dig out the original black chrome exhaust trims that were only on the car till I got it home and changed for chrome ones.

Yep I know what you mean @Devon Z , I had fitted chrome side gills, chrome door handle covers and chrome stone guards.
Had a change of heart a few months ago and took off all the chrome bits......apart from the tail pipe tips,I still like them :).

Nothing wrong with bling though,it's all down to personal preference.

That black chrome looks lovely when polished like that.

The tips are the only bit of chrome left on mine now...need some black chrome like that.

I have zero chrome on mine. Seems to suit some colours better than others. @brilie has the screen surround on his zed and it looks superb.

Anyway, in my humble opinion, Chrome gills, windscreen surrounds, door handles and stone guards break up the lovely flowing lines of a Z3,
Which are lovely in their own right, and need no enhancement!.......( Other opinions are available!):D

Doesn't matter what others want or do to their cars but I started dechroming mine slowly two years ago and will continue until I feel I want to change it up to whatever! So do your own thing people!! JIM

I like the chrome on the dark colours think it sets a black zed off but there is a dakar sport on autotrader with chrome trim and i really don't like it against the yellow im my opinion but like everything in car world its a personal choice.

Of course its a personal thing, and if you want chrome go for it and be happy, its great that everyone is different, but to me, its gilding the Lily!

I have considered de-chroming mine but I don't think I would be happy with the results, I like it just the way it is.

I inherited Chromed angel eyes and Grille surround on Zelda when I bought her, which I think is fine. But viewed in profile, with the Alpina wheels, any further adornment, to me, would spoil her lovely lines.

I know it's all down to personal taste, we're not all the same and we change as we get older.

What I don't these days is Matt black wheels?! Just looks like they've lost the plastic wheel trims!??...should of used cable ties
