Hello

I have decided to change my fuel pump as preventive maintenance since when I leave the car for very long periods of no driving when I turn the key the pump makes a groaning noise, it's fine after that if you drive it regularly and don't leave it more than two or three weeks but not a good sign, performance is good but I am chasing the last bits of fuel trim adjustments and I want them perfect - car is 120K anyway so I recon is about time.

Now I have seen the assembly and I think you can replace just the actual pump and reuse the assembly with the fuel level sender et - anyone with any recommendations or any experience of which ones would fit in there please?

I have seen numerous pump pictures but they all seem to be slightly different - I Have no experience are they all fairly standard? , Bosch, Valeo, Pieburg - any recommendations on brand? I have been looking for the VDO (which I think it's the original) but no luck.
