I mentioned some time ago that my fuel gauge seemed to stuck on full, I have left it for a few short trips of maybe 20k all up, because It may have been actually full.. I;m really starting to agree with myself now that it is actually playing up. last time this happened there was stacks of fuel in it but it read nearly empty. as a result I had to siphon off a near full tank. All I need to do is work out approximately how much fuel there is in it. Its not been driven much over the wet season so I am uncertain. now the stick a semi rigid pipe gently down the filler hole test and blow as you do, listening for bubbling I get in about 16" in from the neck of the filler. Question is, Is it possible that the tank is still reading full because it is ?, and I'm about to fix something that aint broken ?. But from this day forth, I am going to be the only one that puts fuel in it. and reset the odo every time I do.... Any ideas appreciated...

My fuel gauge is not accurate.
Siphon the fuel out into cans. You could put it in another car to use it up. Your z will get nice fresh fuel after you have solved the gauge issue.

Option 1) Spare gas can in boot, drive until you run out, then you know that the fuel will be below the the fuel pump level.

Option 2) Fill the tank, rest the tripo, spare gas can in the boot, drive until you get 320 miles (or km equivalent) on the tripo. Then remove the fuel pump.
