I'm doing the manifold swop at the moment and as I'm waiting for parts to arrive, I'm cleaning up parts. I'm going to replace the O rings on the injectors but not sure if I can use normal silicon grease on these and other manifold connections or whether there's something else I should be using please?

OK after much internet searching :

Just use petrol / Don't whatever you do use petrol
Just use some motor oil / Don't even think of just using motor oil

etc etc ....

But generally silicon grease seems to be OK and maybe lithium grease is OK too....perhaps.

It makes sense to use a lubricant that is used in the environment the pieces are in. So engine oil is what I use to lube injector seals and any tight vacc. pipes.

OK thanks for the feedback chaps. The problem I was having was that for every expert opinion, there always seemed to be a corresponding expert counter-opinion on this. The injectors were in really tight - probably hadn't been touched in 20 years. Just want to get them back in without damaging the new o rings.

I've never had any issues with ones I've lubed with engine oil Steve. They do get tight, I've seen injectors break before coming out in the past.Petrol as a lubricant would work in my opinion as it would evaporate anyway.
