Fuel gauge playing up

So my gauge showed half full when I started it this morning…funny coz it was just below a quarter last night. Now I know people rob fuel, but can’t imagine the fuel fairy came in the night and put some in. So I put 25 quid in thinking it might be a dodgy reading, and now it shows a quarter, what the hell is going on !?

Probably your fuel sender. Just fill the car to max and you'll know you've got around 300 miles range

Mine is the same. As are others i believe.

Yeah going to fill it so I know I have 300 miles. Then set the trip meter and at 150 miles fill it again and see how many litres it takes, I would imagine 25 litres. Then all I will do is repeat every 150 miles until I get it fixed
