Front subframe removal

hi ya all.
the guy who bought my Z is asking me about this and I really cant recall what I did when I removed the cross front axle subframe.

do you just remove the bolts and detach it or there are also nuts on the top of it?
for all I can remember, I just unscrewed the bolts and removed it, did not find any nuts.
am I correct?

Just bolts through the underside, no nuts involved.

I thought this is a guard to protect the sump. I'm taking mine off for a good lick of paint

And brace a bit more involved with the subframe removal.
