The Meyle lollipops are only Original Quality not HD Quality. Not all Meyle stuff is HD. The front drop links and control arms are HD. A lot of their other stuff isn't. It's not to say it's not good but it's not going to be as good as their HD.

Hello,
Firstly starline is a CHEAP PRICE FIGHTING BRAND introduced by ECP where the parts are multi sourced worldwide, would I fit these to my car............................. NO CHANCE.......................especially not steering components.

However MEYLE manufacture their own steering and suspension including the front as you say lollipop bushes and brackets, they are manufactured in house in their own facility, regarding a previous comment they are not HD which is quite correct, MEYLE only reverse and re-engineer 'common failing parts' where they offer a 4 year unlimited mileage warranty, MEYLE ORIGINAL however have a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty, BMW only offer 12 months at twice the price.
The recommended supplier by mrscalex on Ebay (Johnnyboy-1) is AtoZ in Halifax, the buyer is called Asam, if you message him directly and tell him John from MEYLE recommended them you will receive a discount on all your parts. Let me know if you have a problem.
I am fortunate to work in the automotive parts business ZF for 15 years and MEYLE 10 years and have extensive knowledge of parts and manufacturing and what parts are good and not so good, advice is free so please contact if unsure.
I have recently fitted MEYLE
Struts, strut tops, Hubs, Bearings, axial joints, tie rod ends, wishbones and lollipop bushes and brackets, coated carbon PD discs and brake pads and ABS sensors, a total front re-fit, my car drives like a dream.

I fit a lot of MEYLE parts and find the quality is good.

If you are replacing the lollipop bushing, consider the concentric Z3M or E36 M3 bushing part number 31129069035. It has more rubber in the bushing and controls the control arm better. Less tramlining without the NVH of poly bushings. I always install these when working on one of the local Z3's down here.

Don't install the Z3M or E36 M3 eccentric (offset) bushings. You end up with bump steering, as I found out the hard way.

I fitted these to my zed as too many gaps in original bush allowed too much movement
Poly bush can be quite hard so was trying to find something in-between these seemed to fit the bill as they were solid but rubber.

Have to admit made the steering feel a bit twitchy to start but now have a feel for the more directness like it definitely feels better under brakes as don't get that suspension splayed apart feel before you brake hit
But thats just my personal opinion.

Hello Stevo, I bought my Z because of the colour, it’s also very close to the yellow on a GT6 I owned light years ago, lol

Great pictures Stevo,
I took my car out for the first time on Sunday after some restoration, I must say I was expecting one of my wheels to come flying past but I was saved the embarrassment and all went well without a hitch, covered around 150 miles.
Can’t wait to get out on a run with some other Z enthusiasts in the near future.

Not sure if you are UK based or not, but i fitted PSB poly bushes to my front arms. They are circa £25 for both sides so in your budget. Much better improvement over stock and not anywhere near as expensive as powerflex. You need a vice or clamp to press them in though

Just for reference i have replaced all the axle and suspension components on my Z. I have powerflex bushes on the rear subframe mounts, Superpro poly's on trailing arms (no squeaking at all) and PSB upfront. I would say these are all of the same build quality easily but the PSB one's are really cost effective if they have them available for your application.
Getting the old ones out is a tw....t depending how worn they are

On the subject of front lollipop bushes. I changed mine (standard bushes) and my thanks to one of the other members of the forum, who had made a home made tool to press the bushes onto the arm. I did this too with some threaded rod and some scrap angle iron. Main thing is to make sure that the bush mounting lines up with the chassis when starting it (I hammered it on to the stub a bit) inserted the threaded rod through the holes in the bush and used a 21mm socket between the thrust plate and the bush centre to push it home on the stub. Used some mole grips to stop the rods turning.

If you give them a quick squirt a silicone spray they tap on easily.

all fitted, regular meyle items. I used silicone grease, and a socket, and tapped them on. Thanks all
