Last night I connected my NT530 to my PC to install the latest update notified by Foxwell. Roughly 1/3 the way through the process the PC screen went blank. Now when I log into their FoxAssist programme it says there is no data on my reader, the the file is corrupted. Anyone else suffered this issue Please?

Tony.

ps. Have done a good few upgrades and never had a problem, until last night.

Thanks for that Mark:thumbsup:

Tony.

Just updated my NT530 with BMW and Hyundai software. Everything went fine.

Hope you got your scanner working again.

Slightly off topic, but would this be worth buying to replace a Carly. I know it's probably hands down a better reader, but does it have the coding facilities of the Carly?

Considering buying one because the Carly subscription is £50+ a year, so only a couple of years for the Foxwell to pay for itself.

Haven’t had a chance to do anything about it really mate. It still works it’s just when I connect to my PC all the info is missing.
I used it to reset @Chaz Ricorn service light on Thursday.

Have you seen @Chaz Ricorn ?!? Thought he was missing in action!

I’m sure there is a reset button on the side of the unit don’t know if that will work for you?

Last week I used my Carly on the Z4 , which had just put the engine light on.
It came up with a load of nonsense codes I have never seen before, basically asking for more money to analyse the codes, (I already have the full package! ) and it wouldn't clear it.

Put my C310 cheap one on, it read a lean mixture code, misfire on Cyl 4 , and all reset OK,
On looking in the engine bay, it turns out to be a split hose after the MAF.
This was an ebay one that I fitted only 4 years ago.
I now have a BMW one but it was £30!

I have discovered that it is the Micro SD card in my NT530 which has become corrupted (mid update). I took the card out of the scanner and put it in a card reader in the PC USB slot and it brings the same message up on the screen. I assume all of the updates were on this card, or would they have been uploaded to the scanner itself?

Tony.

Two ideas:
  1. I've always had good responses from the team at support@foxwelltech.com whenever I've had problems. Raise a support ticket with them.
  2. There must be a recovery position for fitting a new SD card. Format your old one and see if it comes back to life. Otherwise fit a new SD card and pug the scanner in and do an update.

When I updated mine I put the memory card from the 530 in the usb slot with an adapter supplied. The update went on to the memory card, then I put the memory card into the 530 by and it updated the 530.

I just connected the scanner to the PC via a USB cable with the SD card in place. Always worked OK before.
