Forum updates advanced notice

Hi Y'all,

I've got some updates I need to run on the forum software itself, and I'm not sure exactly when I will be doing them over the next day or so. If you do drop by and find the forum closed the it shouldn't be for too long. Will try and give you all as much notice as possible if I can.

Also, exciting news. Assuming I don't barf the forum up with the updates, we will be trialing out an Events system which is due to be released soon. It's currently in Beta testing at the moment, but as it's written by a very competent developer I may run it live here. The feature list is pretty impressive, and that list will grow as the product develops. Here are some of the things included.

• Add, Edit, Remove Events
• Month, Week, Day views for the calendar
• Auto-create thread option
• Google maps integration
• Deep XenForo integration including: likes, alerts (new event, invited to event, invite responses, etc.), warnings, etc.
• Attachments / Mini-gallery
• Event administrators

The Event Administrators option will be incredibly useful as it means more than one person can have access to update an event - currently only the thread starter can do so. Eventually there will be RSVP functionality too!

I'll post more info as it develops, but I've been waiting for a proper event system for ever!

I'm just updating the forum themes so you may notice some slight issues with the way the main menu is displaying. Should have it fully updated soon.

OK, that's the theme sorted out and updated to the latest version

Final thing will be to upgrade the forum core software, but I've had enough updating for now!

If anyone has problems accessing the alerts in the top right corner you need to clear your browser cache. Windows users can hold the Ctrl button and press F5. Mac users can do the usual act of sacrificing a chicken to summon the devil, before closing and reopening their browsers.

That should clear it. Results may vary!
