Me too. Well it was a 1300 Sport but there was little difference between the two models.
I had the XR4i off my brother was a bit of fun for the time but much preferred the Brooklin Capri my brother had far more stylish in my own opinion.

The small mirror covers the same view area - less to knock off .
Drove past Cosworth Engineering on my way to the paint shop a while back.. Northampton is home to a few interesting companies aside from the ones that make shoes....the Sierra Cosworth was definitely a sort after motor back in the day, most lads would have to make do with a replica...whale tail and all.!
My old boss, back in the early 90's, had a real one, his young son totaled it while driving in London.
this is a fake Cossie that I helped put together for a Corporate entertainment company, back in around 1990.
The shell was an ex- Ford factory Group A shell, seam welded, full cage and a few extras welded in for stiffness.
Engine and box was out of a wrecked cossie, not sure exactly which model the donor was but we believe it had been "fiddled" with based on how it went!
Body kit was a fibreglass copy
And a pair of KC's on the front!
Handling was a bit "flakey" to say the least as it was a bit of a selection of what was available! Diff was an LSD out of an XR4x4i, I remember that.
No disputing it was a fake, but it looked the part, was relatively cheap and went like hell! I used to borrow it to take mates out for a blast! (probably no the smartest thing I did in my late teens!)
The corporate entertainers also had a Group 4 mk2 Escort which we borrowed for a season to do the Snetterton Winter Rally Series. My career as a co-driver was short due to Left-Right dyslexia! "errr..... LEFT!"
