Hi,

I was looking at getting a replacement soft top of and auction site or large online dealer. There are around £230 - do they fit OK and is the quality OK? They all seem to be from China or somewhere like that.

Thanks for any help.

I'd go for Jack Smith in Swansea, about £400 all in. There's a long waiting list which tells its own story.

I bought a name-brand one from Amazon a while back and it's great. I was told to watch out for the really cheap ones since they are not made out of the proper materials (twill or canvas), some sort of plastic is used and that's not durable at all.

I am based in N. Ireland so can't get the Jack Smith. I have fitted an MX5 roof and frame before so would be confident I can fit it OK. However I just wanted to get a good quality hood. I think the guy in Wales and the guy in Croydon don't sell roofs to be fitted by costumers.

My roof is generally good, the stitching has split around the rear window. Anyone know if it can be repaired or would to cost much the same as replacement roof.
