I will be replacing my wiper blades shortly. Having looked online at halfords and euro car parts I see flat wiper blades are an option. I have always used the traditional blades, has anyone used flat blades on a z3 and did you notice any difference?

Yes, the aero style wipers are fine. I had a set of Michelin flat wipers and they were fine. The end of the passenger side wiper didn’t sit totally flush in the parked position but worked well enough. Replaced after a year and a half with Bosch Aerotwin which are better.

I’ve used Bosch Aero blades (front & rear) on my coupe for years after liking how well they worked on my wife’s VW Golf. They also looked so much neater than the OEM items. I thought they were more efficient aswell.

Yes, I've also used aero blades on all my cars for some years now. Very pleased:thumbsup:

Aero blades are pretty much standard fit for all new cars these days.
On new cars they usually have a special type of mounting clip.
But most sizes are now available as what is called ' retrofit ' which means new style aero blade with old style hook mounting.
As has been said above you can sometimes get a little lift off the glass on the passenger side in the park position due to the curve of the screen in that area.
Aero blades produce less drag and wind noise over conventional metal frames so more efficient and better durability against weathering

Like anything else though stick with reputable brands as you get cheap rubbish ones like anything else Stephen.

Aero-blade fan here too. I haven't fitted them to the Z3 yet though. Better for aerodynamics & aesthetics imho.

My primary rain removal method is still RainX though. If you haven't tried that then you definitely should! Above 20mph you don't even need no stinkin' wipers!

I think I'll give the aero-blades a go. Funny now I've been been looking I can see the flat style of wipers everywhere. Just shows how much notice of newer cars I take 😂

There are other products which the same job just as well. I first bought this stuff in Florida when I had my Z3, so probably 10 years ago.

You can buy it here at home too.
The new, upgraded product looks like this.

I use this on the cars, house windows, bathroom, and kitchen.
