Fixing luggage net

Bought an OEM luggage net and fixings to hold a map for my French trip next week......

Do the fixings only go through the carpet and backing?

Bought an OEM luggage net and fixings to hold a map... Do the fixings only go through the carpet and backing?

When I installed my net, the screws turned through the carpet and into a semi-rigid fiber backing, which is really what holds the screws. The backing is also what holds the anchor screws for the floor mats.
Maybe your question is whether the screws go through the backing and into the metal. No.
