I am collecting sports seats that were fitted to a post-facelift Z3 at the weekend, aside from the console panel switch being different, are there any other compatibility issues? (Such as wiring loom for the heated seats to the car??)

Any advice would be much appreciated :) I am undecided whether to convert the pre switch wiring to post or just shell out for the correct switches

cheers

Ash

These are the seat connectors we found underneath my 2.2i which has the Sport seats in them. Confused me initially as I didn't realise there were different connectors in the later cars.

As yours is non facelift yours will have different connectors. There is a thread on here somewhereregarding fitting facelift seats to a non facelft car.
As far as I know the loom should be in your car for heated seats but not with the connectors Gary has shown.

Ps If you want some help give us a shout only 30 mins away.

Just a thought where did you get the seats from? If from a scrap car could you ask them if they could cut the yellow connectors off the loom in the car with 12" of the cables and then they could be spliced onto your existing wires?

Ash,

The dash switches have the same connector, it is only the seat connector to loom that may be different. I think Brian has put you on the right track for a solution, but I am also sure there are conversion cables available from BMW.

Edit - part number is 61106916218

Hi Rich

I was going to mention the adaptor loom but then thought if he could get the connectors might make it even easier. Real oem quotes $72 for each adaptor cable

Cheers Rich, you put me on the right tracks & I've found what I need from a thread on the 'other forum' where @GazHyde had posted :)

Good lord that must be a really old thread if I'd posted over there... :tumbleweed:

Oh, and for reference as far as I know the seat connectors didn't change at facelift changeover but some time after. My '99 2.0 had the earlier connectors under the seats which made changing over to the ///M seats really simple.
