Had a few hours spare this afternoon so decided to fit SouthernBoy's gear stick surround.
It fitted well and the instructions where extensive but i altered the way i did it for ease and asthetically im happy with the end result.
Great bit of machining by Barry and added to the armrest i had fitted.

Take care you don't lose one of the many screws on the surrround.

It took an hour or so mainly because i altered the way it fitted rather than follow the instructions....
I counter sank the screws that held the base plate down so the screws sat flush with the surface of it.
The daunting bit if you like was to cut the gaiter and the instructions related too glueing it and from what i made out sandwiching the leather between the chromed bezel and the bottom section...
To me being abit anal with things looking right i didn't want a gap between the upper and lower sections , it would be minimal but decided to try do it with a flush fit.
I removed the gaiter from the plastic frame and sat it over the foam support underneath.
Due to the design barry has used the gaiter sits under the chrome bezel so when fitted loose underneath it presses to the underside and it leaves no gap and drove it for 40 odd mile and it doesn't move..
This just removed the cutting and gluing stage and mean't the bezel was flush fitted to its frame.
Time will tell if if will need to be altered but indications show not as the gaiter is fully supported by the foam.
I was going to take pics but as i altered the way i did it rather than follow Barry's instructions to the tee i didn't want to cause any confusion.
I can get pics if needed though

The smallest bits are some 4mm nuts that need to be fitted to the screws holding it down.
Fiddly but i stuck them all to some sellotape and it held them securly till i got the threads started and it made it loads easier.:)

Very nice, I would make it brushed instead of polished to match the gear knob and the armrests brackets but, hey, just a matter of tastes...;)

I may do but then the rings around the clocks and heater switches etc are chrome so there is a theme the armrest frame is polished. Its just the handbrake lever and Gear knob is brushed but them the handbrake collor and button are chrome its not that far amiss

@Antm72 Good job mate :) You think your interior is finished, but you'll undoubtedly find something else that's 'missing' from it ;) I like the armrest is it OE?
