An exercise I like to do shortly after acquiring a new car as it often provides an indication of how much the car has been 'messed about with' - it's amazing some of the crap I've found tucked away behind the stereo

Although having owned this one before I must have been here before, but on the basis I struggle to remember what I had for breakfast it did feel like I was looking at it for the first time.

Anyway I found the original stereo and harnes intact - I do vaguely remember putting that in first time round to replace a modern flip-off unit. But if I did it the original harness must have had an adapter that I could easily remove.

What I don't remember is this - which appears to be a spare switch unit.

And this which seems to have a 2amp fuse attached to it.

So my question is what have I found if this is the exterior set-up?

Clips into that .

Part of the stereo anti theft system so as well as the unit having a code the pin on rear of unit engages into that switch and when alarm activated if stereo removal attempted will set off alarm.
