We had our first run out in the Z since last September on Sunday afternoon, apart from a short run to the garage for its MOT which it passed with no adviseries.
We headed out in the general direction of the dales going through Bedale & then on to Masham. Here we turned onto the Fearby road heading for Leighton reservoir. We parked up at Leighton where it was great just to be out in the fresh air to admire the view & to stretch our eyes after been locked down for so long. After having a coffee we continued on towards Gouthwaite reservoir. Just before Gouthwaite Sue (now riding shotgun after having the steering wheel prised out of her hands!) spotted some Red Kites so we stopped & spent some time watching these. This was a real treat as neither of us had seen Red Kites in the flesh before, another tick on our wildlife watching list. We then carried on past Gouthwaite then on through Pately Bridge on to Ripon & then headed home. It just felt great to be out in the Z again after such a long time.
