Well, a tentative return and trial run of a great route but taken in reverse.
Limited numbers due to restrictions at the lunch stop in Ludwell. The Grove proved yet again to be top when it came to food. A limited menu, but what they did have was superb. The landlady though was rushed off her feet (literally, because she tripped up a step) with new staff who were totally inexperienced. They had only been open just over a week and given time, should be back on par.
The route was Popham, through the Hampshire countryside and onto Salisbury Plain before heading down through Wilton towards Shaftesbury for the lunchtime stop in Ludwell. Back up zigzag hill and towards Salisbury before turning over the top of the New Forest to A36 services at Ower. A great run and one of many I hope to offer to other groups in the coming year. I think with the limits on groups it will be smaller runs such as this rather than the larger ones.
Other routes will include the back lanes of the South Downs and more of Dorset into Somerset.
