Haha - in the UK (sorry United Kingdom;)) the number/licence plate contains a first year of registration code. Examples here.

P1 August 1996 – 31 July 1997
R1 August 1997 – 31 July 1998
S1 August 1998 – 28 February 1999
T1 March 1999 – 31 August 1999
V1 September 1999 – 29 February 2000
W1 March 2000 – 31 August 2000
X1 September 2000 – 28 February 2001
Y1 March 2001 – 31 August 2001

NWM (No Worries Mate) I just see acronyms so often now it's sometimes difficult to know what we are talking about without looking it up, folks don't spell out what the acronym (AKA) abbreviation stands for on first encounter so it's a guess at times. It's out of control I think! :)

To be honest the USA was the birth place of acronyms. I hated it when VOSA started with then without even telling you what they meant.

Tony.
