I was clearing the cupboard in the garage and found a bottle of Turtle Wax Car Shampoo. Don't know how long I've had it but decided I give the Zed a quick cat lick.

The old girl looks alright from 20 paces =))

A bit like me I suppose =))

Right one cue, it started to rain as soon as I was finishing rinsing. When it stops I'll give it a good leathering and a coat of black polish.

I quite like the look of the old girl with the hard top on.

Wish mine looked that good after a wash, I usually have to polish mine as well after i've washed it.

Lovely, I like a clean thread! Now I must admit to being a tad concerned, Our resident tin lid man H/T likes a hard top and I'm pretty sure had the same wheel as yours, he may just start to get a little excited!!! :D

As I said Mike, it looks good from 20 paces. Close up you can see light scratches and thin paint. It really needs a re spray. Happily though, the bodywork is pretty much rust free. There is a tiny bubble on the offside door but it's hidden behind the mirror.

I bought the hard top a few months after I bought the car. I used it the first winter but didn't use it last year. To be honest I only fitted it this year because I needed to use the space it was occupying in my garage. It needs painting as it's a different colour black to my car. The hard top is a metallic black and my car is basic black.
I got the wheels really cheap off Ebay, only paid £120 for the set including tyres. Fate was on my side again a few weeks later and I picked up another pair of wheels for £60, again off Ebay. They've been on a while now. They are style 104's and usually fitted to Z4's. They aren't to everyone's taste but I like them and I suppose that's all that matters:cool:

It's a shame you don't have a mate like @Andy McDonnell has to respray it for you.
You got a couple of bargains there mate,you have a good choice of wheels now:thumbsup:.
As you said if you're happy with them that's what matters :)

@Sean d is a sprayer.
He's also nearly 400 miles from me too =)) There are a few decent auto body shops in my area and perhaps when I've finished the upstairs bathroom, the downstairs bathroom, the middle bedroom and the kitchen, and if I'm still alive and still have some money left, I might get it done =))
