1. Does anyone know how to adjust the seal between the window and the roof?

Window on the project doesn't sit against the roof seal correctly and so let's water in.

I know I can adjust the window stop screw which will shorten/extend the distance the window travels before it stops however increasing the distance it travels before it stops will cause it to rest higher than the quarter glass panel and so it'll tear through the rubber on the quarter panel.

It is as though the window isn't pushing against the seal... If I push the window inwards then it'll seal correctly but once I let that pressure go then the window goes back to its original position - not a correct seal

Side by side of the window on the project vs that on my actual zed.

2. Second issue is rough idling, I don't know if you'd call it that though, the rpms are stable, there's no misfire and you cannot tell any different when driving, however when you go to the rear of the car the exhaust 'splutters'

So the spark plug wires were covered in liquid and the spark plug hole also has stuff with a sandy sort of texture. Removing some of it has massively improved the issue with the exhaust but not cured it completely.

I'd like to clean the spark plug holes completely but don't know how. I feel that the reason there's stuff in there at the moment is because the car was missing an engine cover for a very long time as I had to borrow it and use it in my zed. As there was no engine cover, water and other debris must have seeped past the Ht leads and into the spark plug holes.

The engine cover is where it says BMW, under this are the HT leads...

3. The sodding ABS light, I don't have access to INPA sadly and don't know why I have this abs light, I was convinced it was the module but a couple of weeks ago it disappeared completely. However it's back again. :( prior to it disappearing I had messed about with the boot loom and had also inflated all 4 tires. Don't know how any of those can be linked. It's the first time that the light went out though since I've owned the car...

Any help with these issues would be appreciated.

Check your tyre pressures again Faheem, the rolling circumference of the tyres alters wheel speed, ergo sensor speed too. Might be connected?

Tony.

@hard top it's just shrunk a little bit... ;) you wouldn't go over to a short arse and tell him he looks knackered just cause he's smaller than most.

Before I got the roof replaced on my daily it had shrunk too but the window still sat correctly against the seals.

The seals are fixed to the metal frame so the canvas shrinking should have no direct effect I'd have thought.

You can space the seals outwards with washers - just pull them off and you will the the frame the slide into- each frame is secured with some Torx bolts. You can remove them and refit with a washer or two behind which will make the seal sit closer to the window.
I saw this on a BMW TIS somewhere and did it on mine.

@Dino D perfect mate, thanks for that, I'll have a look on TIS tomorrow and attempt this soon.
