Well I'm warm again more importantly the wife is warm again. Just had the thermostat changed the car was not getting out of the blue and the guys who did the exhaust said it was over-fueling because of the temp issue.

I guess the engine management thought the car was cold all the time. So all over winter with my head just off the roof and no heat, I guess if I was going to hate this car it would have been then.

So the mechanic is a friend of mine and phoned saying one of the housing bolts had been sheared off in the block. Did I want him to try to drill and re-tap, so I guess the previous owner had tried to change the stat and failed.

Anyway success new housing/stat and the car is more than toastie now, also did the drop arm links and front bushes. What a difference it makes to the steering and handling it's great, just ordered new handbrake shoes and spring set for Monday.

Getting the car summer fun ready

We'll windym that at least a good result, perhaps a wee bit late as winter has nearly passed. I expect your wife is a lot happier as well. Sounds like your really starting to make progress with your Zed.

4 inch of snow in saddle worth - plenty of heater use yet (if the car would even get off the drive)

Wow - big shock I will bet...!! At least she's back now though. Personally I'm gutted... snow on a Friday is no good to me, it has to fall on a Sunday/Monday so I can work from home... by Friday Ive already done 4 days away !! :banghead:

Just in time it's snowing here now, no more cold head from the seat being too high and no more freezing my ass off. Going for a drive now to celebrate.
