Favourite Black and White Film?

Passport to Plimico, is one of my favourites, I love the atmosphere it creates. I also have a collection of all the Laurel and Hardy films, can't beat a good laugh, especially these days

Wing and a Prayer, I remember watching it with my grandfather when I was a very young lad.

Mine would have to be Dam Busters, yes there are some dodgy 'special effects' but the segment showing Barnes-Wallis sweating out the raid at Scampton while the crews are over the Dams is very powerful.
Alternatively, High Noon, a classic cowboy film.

Partial to the Will Hay films, favorite is Oh Mr Porter always liked the Ealing films and the Gainsborough films.

Surprised that no one has cited Casablanca -- great b&w cinematography and use of shadow that is lost today. Recently have seen Maltese Falcon and not too long ago, Seven Samurai. All classics. I think I have seen most of the films mentioned and enjoyed them all.

"12 Angry Men" (original version) not just a favourite B&W but up the top end of my all time favourite film list.

On a more modern B&W "Schindlers List" is worth a mention
