Passport to Plimico, is one of my favourites, I love the atmosphere it creates. I also have a collection of all the Laurel and Hardy films, can't beat a good laugh, especially these days
I saw the thread title last night but didn’t check it out till now. Imagine my surprise when the film title that came to mind last night is in the first post. Great film. Imagine the exhaust emissions
Mine would have to be Dam Busters, yes there are some dodgy 'special effects' but the segment showing Barnes-Wallis sweating out the raid at Scampton while the crews are over the Dams is very powerful.
Alternatively, High Noon, a classic cowboy film.
This reminds me of a remark made from by youngest son...... was the world black and white when you were little Dad,
Have to admit that I am old enough.
Surprised that no one has cited Casablanca -- great b&w cinematography and use of shadow that is lost today. Recently have seen Maltese Falcon and not too long ago, Seven Samurai. All classics. I think I have seen most of the films mentioned and enjoyed them all.
