Quick Google search for Code 8 only brought back a link to this old thread that had it amongst others on a 2.8 and that refered to the Maf being at fault.

If it is the Maf you could try spraying Maf Cleaner on the sensor but doing that on mine killed it completly. If you replace it only fit oem Bosch or Seimens do not fit pattern parts they rarely work or last long, oem is the way to go but hurts the wallet. Before throwing parts at it, clear the code and see if it comes back. Also take a look at live data from the Maf, can you see it working?
