Hello, Im new to this so excuse me if a question thats already been covered.
Ive got a V reg 2L z3, lovely exhaust note but spoilt by a overactive fan! Temp guage is dead on centre, and anyway theres no general pattern to it operating but is doing so more and more. sometimes if I push the revs to 5k say, in a lower gear, say 3, it seems to stop (not just on de clutch). Im not sure if its the original fan (how do I tell) any clues or hints on how to reduce or get rid of this annoying event? Thanks

It sounds as though your viscous coupling is playing up. When the engine is cold you should be able to stop the fan with a rolled up newspaper, if you can't then you need a new coupling. A few minutes work and not too expensive.
