Facelift seat into Pre-face won’t rise

Hi all, I purchased some facelift extended leather seats to go into my pre-facelift to replace the lilac sports seats I have.

I’ve gotten over the issue of the two connections being different by buying (only 1 so far to test!) the converter cable from BMW.

Fit the seat tonight and although it goes backwards and forwards, it doesn’t go up or down when I press the switch that way.

I’ve connected the cables up in the correct ports (they’ll only go in the relevant port anyway and they’re coloured the same) but still no joy?

have I missed something or could it be a fault with the seat itself?

Is the seat in the fully up position? The the treaded nut on the up/down adjustment worm gear has a habit of jamming in the fully up position. Turn the seat upside down, find the long square looking object running along one side, remove the end bolt and give it a twist to release the nut.

If the seat is not in the fully up position, you may have a stuffed motor. Get your wiring diagrams (Resources section of this forum) and jump the motor wiring with 12V DC to see if the motor will work.
