Anybody know if the condenser on my Z3M S50. Is it the same condenser as the other large engined Z3s? I.e. the 2.8. Or the 3ltr engines? Or is the M version specific to the M?

TIA

many thanks

Yes. It is unique to the S50B32 engine, but that doesn't mean that something else won't fit.
yes that’s what I was thinking! How different can they be? 😀

Ask @swamper he knows.

Tony.

ps. Even a slight difference can make fitting extremely difficult. A/C equipment mainly uses solid alloy pipe work and if something is even slightly out of alignment you end up with stressed pipes, unions etc. and that can and will lead to cracks and leaks. Been there done that.

Have you run the part numbers through realoem? Whilst not definitive it’s a good start for alternative models. lllparts.co.uk is also good for dumping part numbers in to check cross model fitment.

Echoing what Pingu says about S50 specific, had the same with the power steering pump on my Z4M. Looked to be unique to the Z4M but actually same as used on the E46 M3 and Z3M with the S54.

It would be very strange if it’s not a generic part as there aren’t many parts specific to the z3m some suspension and exhaust parts and and a few bits of plastic. I’ve a problem with mine and it’s going to need fixing so keep updating

its only for the M all others dont fit.
they are a little deeper and as a result they push everything back towards the engine.

I looked on parts site I use for my Z3 M Coupe and details below :-

Looking at the part numbers of the post from Miller1098 above it crossreference with the Mahle £100.92 item so hopefully you would be in business going for that item. Good work by Mr Miller.
Let us know how you get on.
