I have two chrome tips to go on the exhaust…
In theory they just hammer on and there is a screw to secure underneath…

The problem…. No way will they hammer on :arghh:

Are the tail pipes from the same supplier as the exhaust?

I bought a generic chrome tailpipe for mine and had to chop most of the tail off the exhaust and a chunk off the chrome pipe to make it fit. So, from my point of view, you can do whatever it takes to make it fit as long as it's not going to fall off on the motorway and go bouncing down the fast lane.

Oh. What's that diaphram actuator wotsit? What trickery is that?

Thanks for your reply
It opens up a valve in the exhaust

Slot method was the way to go did consider an exhaust pipe expander mandrel to stretch the tips but slotting the easiest way. I take it the fitting of the new exhaust went well.

The fitting will be another day now… was all geared up to fit it this afternoon…..And then was asked if I wanted to go to lunch down at the seafront by my young fit single neighbour ….

no contest …. 😂😂😂😂😂😂

exhaust fitted this morning early… :)

What does it do ?
Mine is always open. From another thread

It runs closed and opens around 2,500 to 3,000 rpm depending on engine load. Less bass when closed for when you're running around town and not disturbing the locals, not that its loud when open. There is a controller in the left rear sump in the trunk. If you disconnect the flap, remember to plug the vacuum hose with something.
