I need the heat shield from above the exhaust as mine has rot through around the bolts. It's only £40 from bmw but if anyone has a spare that could help me save a few pennies?
Cheers

Have facelift 1.9's you can have at Zedfest, front or rear if they fit?

Mine also has rot around some of the bolt holes, going to use some large washers to clamp between the shield and bolt. Tried it with a couple and it held it up nice and strong. Only costs a few quid for some washers. I think the ones I used were M6X30mm.

I had 3-4 that needed washers, works a treat

I made some aluminium discs and fitted them in the same way as washers. Covered with grease and hoping similar metals with protection will help reduce the corrosion.

The washers that were on were a big bigger than a £2 coin so not sure even bigger ones will do much?

If they have already had washers fitted and still rotted past them then you maybe better with a new heat shield. Mine were just the bolts so had room for some washers. Sounds like yours may have already had this done and rotted past them.

Does anyone know if the 1.9 will be the same as the 2.8?
@Synclare would you be able to post a pic? It's the one that goes above the back box, Thankyou!

Yes. Going down for about a week and seeing family as well as going to Zfest. Will have a bit of room in the boot for carrying small parts each way. What are you wanting me to carry??
