Exhaust Flap Z4 E89 35is

Hi can someone possibly help with some info regarding exhaust flap on o/s rear box….

when stationary and power off.. should the flap be closed?

on tick over should it be open or closed …

im having a gut feeling mine is seized and unsure how I can tell or confirm this.

if seized how can it be freed?????

mine is currently in closed position…

Belatedly…flap should be closed when engine is off…on initial cold start it should open to allow the cats to warm up..thereafter it should open at certain settings of the mode selector and throttle settings
