I took my Z3 2.2 Sport to a garage to get it on the hydraulic ramps as one of the brackets had come lose or so I thought any way the net result is a new bracket is required

Mine broke a couple of months back and went all though this. Those ones on ebay are listed wrong. There for a E36 saloon 2.8 which have a smaller diameter pipe hence. It don't fit. The Z's have biģger pipes. Just had to be brave in the end and got it from the dealer. I think ive still got the ebay ones at the back of the garage which you welcome to try but i think they won't fit.

It's will be an easy fix Tony as soon as I've purchased the brackets I'll give them to the garage to fit.

Just give Sopers a ring, they will tell you the price and they give discount and don't usually charge postage.:)

I'll look into it tomorrow Steve. But, bear in mind after market ones will not be as good quality as genuine BMW.

Tony.

The main point of this bracket is to take some of the stress of the studs on the front flange, and also stops the exhaust flexing. I see many BMW's without them though.

Tony.

ps. Off to Newark, catch you later mate.

You clearly didn't heed my post of Feb 15th Steve under the heading "Fractured Exhaust on 2002 1.9". the bracket stops the downpipe fracturing at the manifold flange. :bookworm:
