Started as always with a visit to Zedshed (via Breakfast bar) and once at HQ… this greeted me…

An engine on the floor….

And an empty Mint shell….
Lee had removed the engine …. ( he definitely needs to get therapy that boy!!!)!

But turns out that 200K miles means bolts can be a bit difficult….., and so it proved!!
Lee was missing today so I had to aim all my questions at Gaz , Trev and Paul.

But broken studs were the order of the day
So Paul and Trev propped the engine up

And Trev got on with dribbling… I mean dremmeling

Then came the precision drilling of a high tensile bolt.
This took 3…..
Trev drilling, Paul applying cutting fluid and at first me keeping an eye on the level of the cut….. this was going to take hours!!! So Gaz took over from me as I had to go ….and as Gaz remarked….not a spectator sport=))

This is where I had to go as I had to go to Hemel Hempsted to meet up with Roy ( @Rha )
And pick up 4 wheels … and other goodies that were in his garage:thumbsup:

At this point I had an issue with tyre pressures on the Kia….. (but not realising till later it was due to an incident of kerb hitting due to an idiot seeing an ambulance coming up fast behind him and just stopped dead ….I had to go up a kerb so it could go between us )

Anyway Roy led me down to a Kwikfit who inflated the tyres and I went on my way all sorted … at least I thought it was…..

Pressure started dropping in back near side tyre on the A1M So got off at the next junction and drove for about 40 minutes as the pressure dropped from 37 to 22 before I found a backstreet tyre place in Stevenage.

New tyre £120.00. Which was not that bad actually. Could have been a lot worse …. It was on the rim so could have gone bang !!!

So arrived in Swaffham later than planned ….but got here so all ok.:)
