£273 for two weeks....What do you call silly money?
Mine was similar for 17 days in Switzerland a few years ago. It depends on what level of cover you get, mine was a belt and braces cover that would transport my car home if undriveable and provide me with a car for the remaining period of time. Insurers just see an old car.£273 for two weeks....
Thankyou that is interesting..Be careful who you source breakdown cover from - many have an age limit on what they will cover.
The only company that I could find that would cover a car as old as the Zed was RAC.
The next thing you need to check is the repatriation policy - most will only cover up to the value of the car - so have a breakdown abroad that can't be sorted locally, you may get told to scrap the car & they will send you a cheque... Only the top packages will repatriate no matter the value of the car & even then you may have to argue with them when that happens as they will try to talk you into scrapping...
Done a few trips abroad so quite familiar with the tactics these companies employ.
