Soooo if it was to hypothetically swap a 1.9 (blown head gasket) to a 2.8, what would I need?

I know its doable but it becomes the question if you don't sell your car and buy a 2.8. Probably far cheaper in the long run. The cost of the small parts alone will add up.
Radiators are different. Most of the drive train is smaller from the rear end to the brakes. This doesn't prevent the 2.8 swap but they do have bigger brakes for a reason.
