Engine idle?

Hey all
I’ve a 98 1.9 with a really unusual idle issue.
The car feels like it’s idling lumpy when you sat in it?
It doesn’t seem to be a misfire, there are no codes, and the car pulls strong and smooth.
You notes the car “rocking”…the only way I can describe it is like the older v8 engines.
The car will shake slightly?
I do have an aftermarket silencer fitted which makes the exhaust louder, and wonder if this could be a contributing factor?
I’m not too worried about it as the car drives A1, just would be nice to know
Cheers
Danny

Hi
I’ve not done a compression check, car pulls and drives well, plenty of power!
No oil usage, or smoke.
It literally is just when the revs settle at idle, the car rocks a bit

It’s only done 84000 miles

The 1.9s do idle a little lumpy. If it’s not significant and it drives well I wouldn’t worry too much

When I start mine (1.9) it idles lumpy for a few minutes. I feel like it's only firing on 3 cylinders. But by the time I've gotten back into the car after closing the garage door it's firing on all 4, super smooth and ready to go.

My 2.8 has a slight valve guide seal leak so sometimes its lumpy and then it clears up.

Well I wouldn't say it's 'Normal'. I've been meaning to take a look but just never get round to it.

Well, the post above yours also says it's kinda OK if it runs well, so I'm not stressing about it.
