Engine ECU reset.

Just replaced the inlet pipes from MAF to manifold because they were split.

Is it necessary to reset ecu trims or anything to improve emissions before MOT on Friday?

No need to reset, just take it for a run, get it warm, and red line it under load (2nd gear up hill is ideal). Mine would fail every year. I just take it for a 50 mile blast and it passes with flying colours.
