And mounted close to intake, without exhaust needed close by.
This means no more intercooler + all the piping etc.
Which now also results in more turbo lag as the whole area needs to be presurized.

It keeps spinning at 100000 rpm even off throttle, so there is no turbo lag is what the article says, and lag comes from spooling up on normal a normal turbo?

A bit high on the RPM there Rich article says 10,000 not 100,000.;)

I get it, you remembered Bonzo is under lock and key this week.=))

Is he finally getting his humour transplant?? I hope they found a suitable donor. Mind you anything will be an improvement!!
And I did notice the slight exaggeration but left it for BMG to correct! JIM

Yes.
What does a turbo do: It put's pressure on the air going into the engine. More air = bigger bang.
The turbo needs to spin up AND put pressure again on the whole intake system.
The combination is what takes some time.
Reducing both will make a massive difference to the turbo lag.

The lack of need of an intercooler will also result in less parts (= weight), less parts that can get damaged (who never had issues with radiators or all other coolers for that matter) + a better airflow.

A second part linked to it is the exhaust flow. It will not have to go thru the turbo anymore and will exit the car better. Don't underestimate what a blocked exhaust can do.... had that once on my friends discovery. Got smashed by a rock when doing offroad. Lost a lot of horses on that rock.

Jimmy the Hoover ?;)
