Have you driven a car with Electric power steering or do you own one with it. We have recently purchased a Fiat 500X and it has this type of steering, I find it difficult to get on with and find there's no feedback through it to tell you what is going on in road conditions, I actually find it akin to driving in a video game but a bit more positive, how do you find it, if I had realised sooner when test driving I wouldn't have bought this vehicle, wife gets on with it fine, but I think it can't be that good as regards feedback. What are your views. Rha,Roy.

Agreed on the lack of feedback, at least in my old Punto. I bit light even before you put the parking "uber uber" light button on. No real feel or feedback.

The Corsa used to have electric steering was a bit light, Our 5 series has electric as well but that seems fine but there are tales of them being vague at speed.

Well gookah, you've obviously done some miles with E/steering and get on with it, maybe I'm a little too old in the tooth for all this change that's why I drive a Z3 I suppose. Maybe next year after a lot more miles I'll view it differantly, still think there's something missing when driving with E steering. I like to feel the steering biting back when the road surface changes or when it don't like what I'm trying to make it do. Bit like a women when you say it's the wrong colour or its too tight. =))

Well I have both and I really cant find any difference between my 2 Z's steering wise at all. I honestly didn't know the Z4 had electric steering until I read one day that Shelly and Allan's car played up recently. Regarding "feedback", could it have something to do with the size of the tyres we tend to run on?

Tony.

Size of the tyres? Now that's something that's changed over the yrs Tony.
Thinking about it I'm now wondering if I actually subconsciously miss the feedback of the non assisted steering, and going to power steering where there is less and now going to electric has awoken a trait that I just can't get over. Does this make me bias towards progress that I really can't cope with. What worries me is if you have a flat batt with electric steering does this mean you can't steer the car.
Yes!!!! I think progress is maybe a phobia I just might be suffering from, now the question is, do I get some help?. Do I need some,
Heeeeeeeeeelp!!!!!!!!! =))
