Good afternoon. I have been on the lookout for lowering springs and found a nice deal on a new set of Eibach 2072.140 on Facebook marketplace. They are intended for a 2001-2006 M3.
Could these springs work on a 1997 2.8 Z3? My research shows the Eibach 2060.140 is the model number intended for my car. I figured it’s a long shot but the deal was too good to pass up. If not, I will try and sell or trade.

Thanks in advance. I must be half crazy for buying car parts that probably won’t fit from people I don’t know. 😎🍻

Thanks,
John

Hello John, You may have already seen my posting regarding Eibach...my car is 98 2.8 and I went for E2062-140 pro-kit

Have a browse HERE to see what Eibach recommend.

I'm not sure what the difference between 2062-140 and 2072-140 is!...hopefully yours fits!...let us know!

Thanks as400. Your car has the look I’m after. Beautifully done.
I’m sure someone will chime in and let me know if the springs I bought will work. I recently refurbished a set of staggered 32’s and had them powder coated. I hoped the move from 16’s to 17’s would help the wheel gap issue. It didn’t. I love the new rims and rubber but looking to go a little lower.
Did you keep the original spring pads?

Those 32's look smart....not sure about "pads" I just let my mechanic do his thing while I make some tea, I gave him the springs only.

Your in Ohio, give

a call and see what they think about if your springs will fit?

Thanks. I will give them a call and see what they say. I found this info on the link you shared. They are deigned for different axle weights. They are close though.

This is interesting. I spoke to Eibach USA and the rep confirmed that these will not work. I’m not surprised. It was a $80 gamble and they will go on eBay when they arrive later today.
Most unusual, Eibach USA does not offer a e2062-140 or any type of ready-made kit for Z3 2.8 on their website. He recommended Tuner Shop as a U.S. online site for e2062-104 but they are backordered. I emailed them for a timeline. Let’s see what they say.
The hunt continues….

Is there such a thing as a 'Standard' spring kit?

I think my front is too high - springs from a heavier engined z maybe? and the back has a weird wobble when going over a pot hole. Think there's two entirely different springs back there (already done the shocks). So planning on changing all 4 corners but not interested in lowering. Nice comfy ride would be nice.

My ride quality has not suffered in the brief time I have driven the car since getting the springs fitted. It was a concern of mine...and the going round corners bit is even more improved.

On the subject of Standard Springs there doesn't seem to be any, its probably just marketing, many folk don't want to be "standard"...Pro Sport etc sounds much more fun!
