Well, it was Ebbee's time in the TLC of the Zed shed with @Lee @GazHyde @Oldguysrule all putting some help in ... @Shortie_gal and Toni on Pizza duty and yours truly trying to look as if I was doing something.
The issue..
You may remember the discussion regarding the replacement of the water pump ... some go at 80K some last longer. As the year is looking very busy I decided as I was over 85K that it would be a good idea to replace the water pump, Thermostat and the belts.
One stripping the components the following was noted. The bearing in the water pump seemed a little rough compared to the lovely replacement. The thermostat looked like new, as it could have possibly been replaced at an earlier time. It was not a BMW stamped part. The interesting bit was the belts, as Lee spotted that they had started to crack and breakdown. So the idea to do the preventative maintenance was a good idea in my mind. Total cost just over £100, money well spent I would say.
The photos below are... What I can say is that the drive home with -2.. top down.. was lovely...
Lee working hard...
Gary trying to see if he could copy Lee at working hard... Joking.. He does work hard..
Fan and cowl off ...
Thermostat removed, Belts removed.
The Zed shed minor adjustment device.
Water pump and thermostat out ..
The belt starting to break down. The other belt was starting to break in a similar way.
New Belts in place, Water pump and thermostat replaced.
I will add more when the next phase of any works is carried out.
Once again, great work by the Zed Shed (Hampshire) lol..
