Hi all. At our last meet at Silverstone, I suggested an end-September cruise, including lunch (and maybe afternoon frolics!) at Burghley House near Stamford, which idea all seemed OK with. Date for the cruise either Saturday 29th, or Sunday 30th September. Could you post preferences on the date please and once this is firmed up, we'll start some planning. :)

Update 1:
Date of the cruise confirmed for: Sunday, 30th September

Those confirmed attending:
reddyzeddygo (Shaun & Karen)
EnthuZiaZt (Mike & Sandy)
Badman Gee (Mark & Michelle)
Macca (Richard & Mary)
allan (Allan & Shelley)
z3cade (Liam & Caroline)
Brian4 (Brian & Sheila)
zedster4 (Barry)
pete59 (Pete & Ann)
M@r]{ (Mark)
Bessie Blue (Pete & Val)
Mint (Dave & Pauline)
micklaw (Mick & Caroline)

Update 2:
Location for start of cruise: The Haycock Hotel, Wansford, Peterborough, PE8 6JA.
The Hotel is situated close to the A1 and the A47.
Hotel website: http://www.macdonaldhotels.co.uk/our-ho ... ock-hotel/

We will meet in the Lounge of the Hotel. (Tea and coffee etc., can be purchased in the Lounge from 10.00am.)
All to arrive by 10.30am please. We will aim to start out on the Cruise at 10.45am.
Note: No petrol stations along the route of the Cruise, so please make sure you have plenty on board at the start!

Lunch: Table for lunch booked in the Orangery Restaurant, Burghley House. Table booked for 1.00pm.
(Menu has been emailed to those attending the Cruise, so that they can return their choices of courses for the meal.)

After lunch we will explore Burghley's "Garden of Surprises" (which will include exploration of the separate "Contemporary Sculpture Garden"). The entrance fee for the Gardens is £7.20 per person. If our Group numbers 20 people or more, the entrance fee will reduce to £5.90 per person.

Update 3:
Evening bite to eat: When finished at Burghley, we'll travel to The William Cecil hotel in Stamford to have our pre-ordered choices of sandwiches, teas and coffees. These will be available for us at 6.00pm.
(Sandwich menu has been emailed to those attending the Cruise, so that they can return their choices.)

Update 4:
Lunch: All pre-orders for lunch have now been completed and confirmed with the Orangery Restaurant. We need to arrive in the Orangery Restaurant for 1.00pm - our lunches will be served at 1.15pm.
There will be jugs of water provided on the table. Any other drinks required must be purchased at the counter and paid for individually.

"Garden of Surprises": Entry to the Garden of Surprises at the discounted rate of £5.90 per person for all attendees of the Cruise has now been arranged and confirmed with Burghley.
Our entry tickets to the Garden of Surprises have been pre-ordered and I will collect them on behalf of the Group at Burghley on the day.

Evening bite to eat: All pre-orders for sandwiches/teas/coffees have now been completed and confirmed with The William Cecil hotel. These will be served at 6.00pm.

Update 5:
Parking at Burghley: All Cruise attendees have confirmed that they wish to go ahead with the special 'prime position' parking at Burghley (at a cost of £5 per car). The arrangements for this have now been completed. When we enter Burghley Park, we will follow signage marked 'Car Rally' to our designated parking position close to Burghley House.

Update 6:
Payments to be made on the day: All payments to be made at Burghley and at The William Cecil hotel, have to be made as single, total bill payments (i.e., they cannot be made by way of a number of separate payments by individual members of the Group). Therefore, I will need to collect your individual payments from you on the day and then make total bill payments as appropriate. I will email all Cruise attendees a note of their individual costs to be passed to me on Sunday.

Many thanks for responses guys and gals. Date for cruise confirmed as Sunday, 30th September. Will update the original post accordingly (and as we go along with the planning).

Proposal is for a mid-morning meet-up (somewhere serving coffee/tea etc), then a round trip cruise ending at Burghley House for lunch (in the Orangerie restaurant). After lunch there will be two or three options available at Burghley for afternoon entertainment (including (weather permitting) continuing the EA Crew attack on Mike & Sandy's tea bag hoard with a brew-up with the now famous whistler and gas stove!) - will be posting details of options for consideration a bit later on. There is also the usual option for the Crew to enjoy an evening meal somewhere before we depart for our homes.

At this stage, could you all please post responses to the following:
(a) those happy with lunch in the Orangerie (once we have confirmed numbers I can talk to Burghley re: any need for table reservation etc)
(b) those wishing to have evening meal before departing home (again, when numbers confirmed I can seek suitable venue).
