Is it true on early versions of the Z3, that the glass/plastic clear main part of the headlight can be replaced? Want to keep true to the original....so fresh paint to front requires fresh eyes also, if not anyone know a good source to get some from? Thank you

The lens and the rest of the unit can be split, but I don't think you can get replacement lenses anymore.

Depending on your skills and available equipment you can rejuvenate the lenses pretty effectively. There are a million different products you can use for this kind of job, including toothpaste (yes toothpaste!).

I use Greygate plastic polish for cleaning/polishing plastic headlight lenses. Also VERY good for plastic rear windows in soft tops as is not only cleans but softens the plastic too lessening the risk of cracking when cold. This product is used also for cleaning aero plane cockpit windows etc. available on eBay and Amazon. Not cheap but very good product. Glad I wasn't down the pub Gaz.lol ;)

McGuires do a nice little kit which includes a rotary polish pad you attach to a drill.
