Only one I can see on eBay is from a greedy seller is for £90! You can either wait your time to see if any come up not as many as there used to be but a bit of a long shot https://www.online-teile.com/bmw-ersatzteile/82929404881_Remote-Control.html?language=en&box=cart shown as in stock but BMW discontinued these in 2002

Have a look at Ebay item143765108161 which looks right on the outside but you need to check that it is for a Z3, there are pics on this forum of the correct inside so get them to send you a pic of its inside to make sure

It was the wrong type Geoff. He also had one of the right ones, but wanted £40 and it didn't even work !
Shame that it was the wrong one and what a joker wantinf £40 for one thats not working
A few years ago I got one from a club member in Canada and one on Ebay which was about £15
I would suggest that you try people of firms breaking one up, you might be lucky]

Thanks Geoff. I'm keeping my eyes open! In other news, I found the original fob in a load of other bits that came with the car. The loop to hold it to the keys is long gone but I put a battery in it and it does light up, so it may work when re-paired. I still want a spare though!
you might be able to get a replacement case which I am sure that I have seen but cant remember where
