It was so nice today that I decided to make the most of being unable to sleep past 5am and pop out for an early drive before the traffic got heavy. Had a nice swoop across Devil's Dyke and down the Saddlescombe road, cut east towards Pycombe, took the back way into Ditchling and blasted up the climb to Ditchling Beacon - a lovely tight twisty hill road with some sharp changes in pitch left over from the old horse & cart resting spots where you can feel the car squirm under you as it lifts, goes light, and then settles and grips again

Came home via a short stint on the A27, then cut north towards Upper Beeding, Steyning and Washington on some nice Sussex country roads and then back down the A24. Certainly blew away the morning cobwebs 8)

Views across to misty Mid-Sussex from the top of the beacon

That's the life !! Just returned home from daughters birthday party drove home on my own, top down, in the dark 18 miles, hardly any other traffic on the road. That's worth the license fee alone. 2.0 Auto in sport mode very enjoyable.:D
