What is the general view on replacement brands and levels of firmness.

My M is a bit thumpy and crashy over bumps in the front but I am not sure if that's just the way they are or if it's a bit tired at the front. About 40k miles.

The thing is with the rubber components, bushes etc. it’s not so much about mileage but more about the age of the rubber bits. Unless they’ve already been changed they are probably well ready for renewing. Such as anti-roll bar mounts, steering rack mountings and top strut mounts to name a few.

Thanks Tony. On the Z3 thats been mine since 98 I did all new suspension bushes, z3m front control arm lolypops, poly beam mounts, bilstiens a6 all around. Transformed the car. Love it.

On the m roadster I actually don't know if it's just v hard or needs work. It's a 2008.

hi i have a 2006 e85 sport love the car but was fed up scraping the underside on speed bumps ect. also hard solid ride swapped springs .shocks for non sport but kept anti roll bars ..works for me , how roads are why would you want low hard suspension on long journey's & no track days ?

I replaced most of the rear end of mine with OEM rubber and then used Powerflex on the diff. Just done the front end and used Meyle HD and Powerflex for the rear wishbone bushes.

I'm also running on BC Racing coilovers, and overall the ride is awesome even on our crappy UK roads.
