I’ve got a new project… A 2003 E85 3 litre. I want to ‘upgrade’ to a quad exhaust.

I’m thinking I need to relocate the battery and get a new rear bumper (or cut a 2nd hole in the existing one).

I’m not going for the 2nd set off the existing back back option - I’d rather have a ‘proper’ quad system like the M Roadster.

Has anyone done this? Any advice would be gratefully received!

Cheers. I bought it from a scrapper - it was a Cat N because it needed a new roof. Since found out the exhaust needs sorting, the amp is blown, the passenger door lock doesn’t work with the central locking (does open manually), the front bumper has some scratches and scrapes on it and it’s got an oil leak!!!
Wheels are being refurbished at the minute and it’s in for the oil leak next week….!
Gotta love a project!!!

Hi Gareth,
on the picture it looks really well, at least the faults are all fixable and not structural, good luck with the project!

Hi Gareth,

Mine has quad tip, twin pipe system. Frees up the gas flow well and sounds great. Based on Z3 though so routing is different (spare wheel had to go).

Well worth the effort

Looks very nice! The paintwork also looks good - have you had a coating of some sort on it?

A quad exhaust will also suit the looks of your Z4:

Mine is a two-in one backbox at the place of the OEM backbox, so the battery has not been moved.
That is just car-porn!

Thanks! But no special coating. Just taking pictures when the light is good and the car is clean only.

I would like a quad on mine someday. Amazing how light can "colour" a car too.
