Never liked the z3m(sport) steeringwheel I was in the scrap yard and found this e46 330i steering wheel for cheap. Does anyone one have experience in converting the slip-ring? It seems the wires all match up. More of a fitting issue.? Not concerned about buttons on the wheel.

Thanks!

That style of wheel (but without the buttons) is quite common on later Zeds..seen a few on eBay recently

The buttons can be taken off, not tied to the the airbag /horn
My problem is the z3 slip ring won't mate with the 330ci wheel.

I was hoping someone figured out how to retrofit it before I try on my own.

Being there tried it and gave up, can’t remember the exact issues it was 16 years ago but I think centred around the slip ring, I didn’t have the slip ring for the E46 wheel so was trying to swop mine over so you may have more luck.

Eventually I managed to get a Y2K Z3 wheel in 2017 as later cars started to get broken and got it re-trimmed by Royal steering wheels.

I would think these wheels are more plentiful now and obviously plug and play but good luck if you persevere.

Do you remember the part number for that wheel?

Ill post how far I get with this adventure before I just buy that wheel
