e36 on z3

Right guys, I've been looking at coilover and found that the e36 ones are half the price of zed coilovers.
So will they fit. There is 101 answers on the Web but no real yes or no. Some say yes some say no other yes but you want get the same drop.

A straight up E36 coil over kit will only fit the fronts. The rears wont.

You can buy any e36 front coil over setup and they will fit. The rear must be either Z3 or Bmw compact.

As above! but beware of the spring rate / poundage.

i've been researching into getting e36 compact springs for the z3 as they are MUCH cheaper. but the spring rates are different so not 100% sure

Sorry I mean e36 compact kits. Easy to find and more of the low end brands do them.
