The department for transport in the UK is increasing the amount of ethanol in petrol for environmental reasons and reckons it can cut carbon dioxide emissions by 750,000 tonnes a year Ethanol has been linked to degradation of components including fuel lines in older vehicles not designed to run with E10 fuels and therefore fires The government will be running a campaign in the summer month's to make drivers aware in the run-up to the changes in September and has a E10 compatible checker
(gov. Uk/check-vehicle-e10-petrol) up and running in remote areas E5 will be the default fuel
